Say you have (5x7) and (x6). You would take the five out so that you have (x7) and (x6) left. to multiply them, take the exponents and ad them together so that what you have now is (x13). The only thing that is left to do is to ad the 5 back into the equation so that the answer is (5x13). Hope that this helps you solving monomials.
