With a calculator: find the decimal value for each equation Ex: 1/2 = .5 and 1/3 = .333, the 1/2 would be greater because it is a larger number

Without a calculator: Find the common denominator Ex: 1/2 and 1/3 so the common denominator is 6 so the equations can be rewritten as 3/6 and 2/6. This would mean that the 3/6 is greater than the 2/6 since 3/6 is closer to 1 than 2/6 is.
