You look to the number in the hundredths place (2 okaces after decimal) and if it bigger then 5, you round can the tenth place up. If it is less then five, then the number in the tenth place stays the same

For example: 10.26779 Round to the nearest tenth.

The answer would be 10.3 because of the six in the hundredth place, it makes the tenth place round up. All the numbers after the hundredth place doesn't matter unless the hundredth place is a 9, then you make the hundredth place a 0 and it's a whole other scenario.
