Isolating x means to get x 'by itself' with all other variables or integers on the other side of the equation. example: 4x-2=20 turns into 4x=22 then x=22/4 then x=11.... X ends up by itself on the left side of the equation, so you've isolated it.
Just add 24 to both sides It cancels on the left, isolating x, then your left with 64 -24+x=40 X=64
It depends on the problem you are trying to solve. like; 2x + 3 = 13. it would be "5". (Multiplication.) or x/3 = 6. x= 18. this is a division problem. Like I said, it all depends on your problem.

x=8
When x = 5, 12x = 12*5 = 60.
Solve for it by isolating x on one side of the equals sign.

You cannot "solve" 100 -x since it is neither an equation nor an inequality.
substitute 0 for y and solve for x. then substitute x for 0 and solve for why and you have the x and y coordinates

138 x 00001 = 138 x 1 = 138.
When x = 5, 12x = 12*5 = 60.
x=8
Subtract x so -4 = 2x/ x= -2
