Step 1: Take the percent and turn it into a decimal. If it is 20%, then .2 . If 25%, then .25 . If it is 3%, then you would write .03 . Step 2: Then multiply the decimal by the whole and you have your answer! ( If tax or a discount...) Step 3: subtract your difference by the original amount ( not the decimal) and You have your answer!
