To "Solve" for Y which means get it on one side of the equals sign and everything else on the other side, write out your equation.
Y + X = 3
You want to get Y by itself so you would want to remove (transfer) the rest of the equation to the other side. Since X is the only thing on that side and it's positive (adding X) you will remove it. Make sure you do this to both sides though.
Y + X - X = 3 - X (simplify)
Y = 3 - X
There's your answer.
x= -.5
x=-2
How do you solve 4y plus x equals 8
-3+x=7. x=10
-6
minus 5
(x-3)(x-2)
x=4 y=x+3 y=4+3 y=7
Yes but not me
(x - 3)(x + 5)
It can be anything. Example: x=1
2
