There is no operator visible between 7 and x.

<<>> assuming that you mean y=7x in other words y equals 7 times x, that is an equation, no problem, but when you have two unknowns you have to have two equations to solve it and they have to be independent.

Example: y=7x, y=6+x are two inpdependent equations and it's possible to replace the first equation in the second, which gives 7x=6+x, in other words 6x=6 or x=1, and then either equation says that y=7.
