I dont feel there is a way to write null hypothesis, it refers to the relevancy whether it is or is not. A null hypothesis (H0) is a stated assumption (that there is no difference) in parameters (mean, variance, DPMO) for two or more populations. According to the null hypothesis, any observed difference in samples is due to chance or sampling error. * http://www.leansigmamart.com Starting with understanding the DMAIC method, with out this you are never going to have successful results. I recently discovered this site dedicated to answering all the Lean Six Sigma / process improvement needs and questions. They offer a FREE very complete software system that will walk you through the entire DMAIC methodology. It has a training video at every possible step including example data, video demonstration, voice guided instructions, templates for every step, and a phone contact to even help you. Oh and did i say FREE? In that site they also have a forum for Q. & A. beside a live chat room. Do you use minitab? How about a complete section on how to use it with videos and links to their home page. They have so much more I cant list, just go there and see. I spend countless hours looking for answers as you did here. I found a source with accurate information and gives you what you are really looking for, plus a way to drive your projects with a mentor.

What causes hypothesis to be rejected?

We have two types of hypothesis i.e., Null Hypothesis and Alternative Hypothesis. we take null hypothesis as the same statement given in the problem. Alternative hypothesis is the statement that is complementary to null hypothesis. When our calculated value is less than the tabulated value, we accept null hypothesis otherwise we reject null hypothesis.

when the null hypothesis is greater than 0.005?

Explain what is meant by null hypothesis?

The null hypothesis is an hypothesis about some population parameter. The goal of hypothesis testing is to check the viability of the null hypothesis in the light of experimental data. Based on the data, the null hypothesis either will or will not be rejected as a viable possibility.

How do you write a null hypothesis in notation?

A null hypothesis is written in notation by using a a statement that is the opposite of what is intended to be found, for example the research will derive answers or needed statements that is different from what is intended.

If we reject the null hypothesis what can we conclude about the alpha risk?

If we reject the null hypothesis, we conclude that the alternative hypothesis which is the alpha risk is true. The null hypothesis is used in statistics.

Why you need to write hypothesis in directional non directional and null directional?

Because the statistical test will compare the probability of the outcome under the null hypothesis in relation to the outcome under either a dierectional or non-directional alternative hypothesis.

What does the researcher hope to do with null hypothesis the opposite of the research hypothesis?

When you accept the Null Hypothesis you are certain that the Null Hypothesis is correct?

No, you are never certain.

What is a null hypothesis?

The null hypothesis is the statement that there is no relationship between two observations.

What is another name for the probability of observing a sample value at least as extreme as a given on under a null hypothesis?

The significance level of the observation - under the null hypothesis. The significance level of the observation - under the null hypothesis. The significance level of the observation - under the null hypothesis. The significance level of the observation - under the null hypothesis.
