It is difficult to illustrate the answer but I'll try a description.

Start with a regular hexagon. All sides equal, all angles equal, six lines of symmetry.

Squash the top down so that the middle vertices spread outwards. You will now have a shape with two lines of symmetry: one horizontal: halfway up the hexagon and one vertical: halfway across.

Now take a chunk out of the middle of the top (or bottom, but not both) side and re-join the ends. That will get rid of the horizontal line of symmetry and all you are left with is the one vertical line.

What is a line of symmetry what does it look like?

a line of symmetry is the middle of a shape that is the same on both sides

What does symmetry look like?

Symmetry is dividing a shape or figure in a certain way so that both sides are the same. Usually the line of symmetry, the line separating the shape, is a straight line.

What does a line of symmetry look like?

Answer:A line of symmetry will be a straight line usually down the middle of a figure. The line can be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal, as long as both sides of the line are mirrors of one another. Example: Ø In this circle, you can see the diagonal line through the circle, and both sides mirror one another, so the line in the circle is a line of symmetry.Answer:A line of symmetry is a line which can be drawn through something in a way that both sides are the same (and the object would look the same if reflected in a mirror)I'll draw a line of symmetry below as an example:.....|..../|\.../.|.\../..|..\./...|...\/....|....\.....|If you were to replace that line with a mirror, it would reflect one side and thus look like the triangle.Below is another example to help demonstrate what i mean by it being reflected, and both sides looking the same:.....|___..../|...../.../.|..../../..|..././...|..//....|./.....|This example is NOT a line of symmetry. If this were reflected in a mirror, it would look like a triangle, versus the shape it is.

What real life objects look like a hexagon?

A honeycomb looks like a hexagon. Its really hard to find objects that look like a hexagon though.I hope you find more Thx ;]
