4x8 what?inches? if those are in inches, then 4/12 ft x 8/12 ft = 2/9 ft2 400 / (2/9) = 1800, therefore, you would need 1800 bricks size 4 x 8 in to fill a space of 400ft2 if those bricks are ginormously sized at 4ft x 8ft, then, you would only need 4ft x 8ft = 32ft2 400ft2 / 32ft2 ==12.5 bricks at 4ft x 8ft. That's a huge piece of brick.
