It depends upon what kind of generator you are talking about. I would recommend reading the owner's manual to see if there is any limitation on how long it can be run continuously. You will probably have to stop it every so often for oil changes and whatever other routine maintenance is required. Your owner's manual should give you that information. Also it depends upon what is the demand for electricity and what other power sources are available.
