x = (3 + 12.21)/10 = 15.21/10 = 1.521 or
x = (3 - 12.21)/10 = -9.21/10 = -0.921
The EXACT answer would be x = 3/10 ± √149 /10
Note: 149 is not divisable by a perfect square

Not sure about the original formula, but one that works is b = a/(2c + 1)
If you can't factor it easily, use the quadratic formula.
