It depends on what type of volume you are looking for. If its liquid volume, then measure at the rim of the water. If its solid volume then fill the glass up to, well, 5 and slowly put the object in it. Lets says the water went up to 8. Then the volume would be 3.
a cone
It has a flat face as its base and a circular face that decreases into its apex.
solid

The type of matter that has a definite shape but no definite volume is a solid. Solids have a fixed shape because their particles are closely packed together, but they can change volume slightly in response to temperature and pressure changes.
cone
The Shiveluch volcano has a stratovolcano cone, also known as a composite cone. This type of cone is made up of layers of hardened lava, volcanic ash, and other volcanic materials, resulting from explosive eruptions. They are characterized by steep slopes and a symmetrical shape.

No, solid is not a type of friction. Friction is a force that opposes motion between two objects in contact with each other. Solids are a state of matter, characterized by having a fixed shape and volume.

no
Yes, cold candle wax is considered a solid. It has a fixed shape and volume, and its particles are closely packed together. When heated, it melts into a liquid state.
