Denominator and Numerator
A fraction.
The integer part and the fraction part.
12 parts are in a fraction bar
2 parts of fraction = the numerator and the denominator
Not by itself. A fraction has two parts, a numerator and a denominator. 1/4 is a fraction.
Denominator and Numerator
A fraction.
The integer part and the fraction part.
A fraction is a way of representing division of a 'whole' into 'parts'. The Numerator is the number of parts chosen, and the Denominator is the total number of parts. A fraction is a division problem, basically:½ means "one divided by two"¾ means "three divided by four"Another way of thinking of it is:½ "one of two pieces" and¾ "three of four pieces"it is 7.10
2 parts in a fraction = numerator and denominator
12 parts are in a fraction bar
2 parts of fraction = the numerator and the denominator
Out of three available parts, two are present.
Two is a whole with no parts to it so it will be written like this: 2.
You can either add the fractional parts and, if required, convert the answer to a mixed fraction and then add the integer part to the integer parts of the two original numbers; or change both numbers to top-heavy (or improper) fractions, add them and then convert the answer to a mixed fraction.
A mixed number needs to be made up of two parts: an integer and a fraction. Since there must be a fraction part, it cannot be an integer.
