Jahiliyah means Darkness. The full meaning of the term is the age of Darkness or age of ignorance. According to the historian, after the death of Jesus Christ and before the advent of Muhammad (SM.) a dark age was exited in the world, when most of people lost the right path of life.

One hundred years before the advent of Islam an age of darkness was exited in Arabia which is called as the Ayyam-e-Jahiliyah.
