a number line is a line that shows a pattern in numbers and is in chronological order with the first number which should also be the smallest on the far left side and the highest and last number should be on far right side. number lines can vary in patterens by the data, such as 1,2,3,4,5 or 2,4,6,8,10 or 3,6,9,12,15 and so on but the patteren must be constant NOT like 1,3,4,5,8 or ,9,4,7,2,1
