1, Its is the measurement of the amount of an objects substance or matter, excluding gravity.

2. It could be the mass mean average number value of a set of similar objects with different mass values , totaled as a whole , then divided by the number of individual objects in that set.

or

3. They also could be asking for the mass of an object in Kilograms or if the question is being asked in pounds by simply take the objects weight here on earth, and dividing it by 32 ft / second squared or in other words for gravity and coming up with an objects mass which is measured in slug's in the English system. So a 64 lbs object here on earth has 2 slug's in mass value for the equation your working with.

1. It is the measurement of the amount of substance or matter an object has , excluding gravity.

2. They also could be asking for the mass of an object by using its weight in Kilograms if the rest of the problems values are being entered using the metric system, or if it is the English system is being used, by taking its weight here on earth in pounds then you divide the weight by 32 ft / second squared or in other words you divide it by the earth gravitational acceleration and you come up with an objects mass which is measured in slug's. So a 64 lbs object here on earth is 2 slug's in mass, and so on.
