In math, "positive" refers to numbers greater than zero, such as 1, 2, or 3. These numbers can represent quantities, measurements, or values indicating an increase. Conversely, "negative" refers to numbers less than zero, such as -1, -2, or -3, which can indicate a deficiency or decrease. Both positive and negative numbers are essential for representing a full range of values on the number line.

In math in general MEAN means average. an average of say, five events would be divided by five and form the average reading. Mean has no negative connotation in Math. By the way, in Algebra, two wrongs do make a right- a Negative times a Negative produce a positive product. I know it sounds crazy went to summer school TWICE for Math, no Einstein, but Mean in Math means average or even Normal like Greenwich Mean Time!
