my interpretation of this phrase in the lyrics to Christina aguleira's "candyman" is that it sounds like landing square on somthing, like a branch in between a persons legs. IE: landing on your groin. i conclude this simply by the use of the lyrics in this song:
Tarzan and Jane were swingin' on a vine
Sippin' from a bottle of vodka double wine
Jane lost her grip and a-down she fell
Squared herself away as she let out a yell
The only thing i can conclude from the use of this last line, is that she landed on a branch, and let out a yell.

It is a military phrase - to square away your kit is to lay it out neatly ironed. Hence to square yourself away after falling down is to pick yourself up and sort yourself out.
