my interpretation of this phrase in the lyrics to Christina aguleira's "candyman" is that it sounds like landing square on somthing, like a branch in between a persons legs. IE: landing on your groin. i conclude this simply by the use of the lyrics in this song:

Tarzan and Jane were swingin' on a vine

Sippin' from a bottle of vodka double wine

Jane lost her grip and a-down she fell

Squared herself away as she let out a yell

The only thing i can conclude from the use of this last line, is that she landed on a branch, and let out a yell.

I'm probably wrong.

It is a military phrase - to square away your kit is to lay it out neatly ironed. Hence to square yourself away after falling down is to pick yourself up and sort yourself out. More generally it is to get your personal administration in order - "OK Troop, you have 15 minutes to get yourselves showered, changed and squared away for scran". (Scran is food).
