A percent is that number over 100. Thus 87% can be rewritten as the fraction 87/100. If this is worked out as a division, it can be converted to the decimal 0.87.

Pi is usually described as either a decimal or a fraction in as simple terms as possible. pi is simplified as 3.14 or 22/7. A "closer" answer to pi can be worked out to millions of places to the right of the decimal by computers, but it is academic, as no "absolute value" for pi can ever be reached. For practical purposes - even in precise fields such as engineering - a value for pi of 3.1417 is considered more than adequate.
It's not possible to write out the entire exact value of 'pi' with digits. That's beenproven mathematically. The number has been worked out to trillions of decimal places,on supercomputers operated by people who were not trying to find the end, becausethey were well aware that the decimal never ends.
A series of worked examples showing the steps that can be followed to simplify ratios.
All decimals are worked in devisions of 10. Fraction can be a division of any number.

To convert a percentage to a decimal fraction, divide by 100.

"Correct to 2 places" means that's as far as you worked it out. That would be 4.99 ."Rounded to 2 decimal places" means you worked it out to 3 places, then you decidedwhat the closest 2 decimal places are. That would be 5.00 .
Not exactly a well phrased question. However if this is what you mean then add up all the minutes and divide by 60. This (even if it's a decimal) is the amount of hours worked. However if you want the amount of hours and minutes then take the decimal number if there is one then multiply it by 60 and you will have the hours and the minutes concecutively. You can use Excel to calculate hours worked. Enter the time worked in an hh:mm format Example: Type in Cell A1- - - 8:00 am Type in Cell B1- - - 5:00 pm Type in Cell C1- - - =SUM(B1-A1)*24 Change the cell format of C1 to "Number" with 2 decimal places. If you wanted to write 2.5 as a decimal, and you worked carefully,it would look something like this when you were done: 2.5
