8+b is a single mathematical problem. Because it is not an equation, there is no way to tell what "b" is equal to. There needs to be more informaiton.
Addition is commutative. That is, a + b = b + a for all a, b
7 + 8 = 15 = 8 + 7 The commutative property of addition states that a + b = b + a for any a and b.
(b + 4)(b + 4)
(b + 8)(b + 4)
(b + 8)(b - 1)
5b = 8 b = 8/5 or 1.6
(b+8)(b+4)
(b + 8)(b + 4)
-8 + b = 4 add 8 to both sides: b = 12
5b = 8 therefore b = 8/5 therefore b = 1.6
b2 + 16b + 64 can be factorized to (b+8)(b+8). If they were equal to zero as in b2 + 16b + 64=0 then b = -8.
