(-1.5,0) (1.5,0) what is the gradient?
Draw a tangent to the curve at the point where you need the gradient and find the gradient of the line by using gradient = up divided by across
A positive gradient goes uphill from left to right A negative gradient goes downhill from left to right
If the gradient is a positive number the curve is increasing, and if the gradient is a negative number it is decreasing.
The relation is that gradient and slope are both angled lines.
Gradients in Adobe Illustrator are a little tricky to figure out. Once your object is created, you need to click the gradient button at the bottom of the toolbar and then you can adjust the colors and angles using the gradient palette window and the gradient tool on the toolbar.
Select the gradient tool and set the tool to linear gradient in the gradient's palette. Choose one of the metal presets. Click add noise to make it look grainy and then add motion blur.
First select gradient then look at Options bar which is below menus. Click on rectangle with gradient which is in Options bar (first option) to open Gradient Editor dialog then select different gradient if you want. Click on image and drag. That's basics but this tool can be complex if you don't know how to use it and you need good explanation. See related link for tutorial.

a gradient when used in photoshop is a layer that when selected has the option of having a start colour that moves through shades of that colour to another. I.e. starts white and as it moves down the page for instance wll go darker and darker until it black.
Select the "Blend" tool (Shortcut is "L".In the "Shape" field select "Radial"Go to the "Gradients" tab, select a gradient or edit one to your specificationsIn the image click with the mouse where you want the radial gradient to have it's center and drag (keeping the mouse button pressed) to where you want the edge of the radial effect to be
First activate Gradient Tool (G) then click on gradient which appears on Options Bar, this will open Gradient Editor dialog, at middle of dialog is gradient and stops. Click on stop to activate Color field (below gradient, Stops section), then click on rectangle with stop color and Select stop color dialog will open. Choose color for that stop and click OK. You can add stops on gradient, click below gradient to add stop color or above to add opacity stop which you can adjust on Opacity slider (use and position text field) or drag stop to change its location.
To use the paint bucket tool, simply click on the pouring paint bucket icon in the toolbox. When you do so, you will see that your pointer changes into a paint bucket and that when you click on the canvas, you can fill areas with the color specified in the foreground color box. ANSWER 2 the paint bucket tool may be hidden under the gradient tool in the tools pallet - click and hold the gradient tool and a flyout will appear - just drag pointer to paint bucket tool and release and you got it if you have trouble finding the gradient tool or the paint bucket, press the G key on the keyboard - that selects both tools and it will be highlighted in the tool palette
A density gradient column is a laboratory tool used to separate biological molecules or particles based on their buoyant density. It consists of a tube filled with a gradient of solutions of varying densities, typically sucrose or cesium chloride. When a sample is layered on top and centrifuged, the molecules or particles migrate to their position in the gradient based on their buoyant density, allowing for separation.
find the gradient
The answer depends on the gradient of WHAT!
basically the reciprocal of the original lines gradient is going to be the gradient for the perpendicular line (remember the signs should switch). For example if i had a line with the gradient of 3, then the gradient of the perpendicular line will be -1over3. But if the line had the gradient of -3, then the line perpendicular to that line will have the gradient 1over3.
