A factor tree is a visual metod of breaking down any number into its consituent set of Prime number factors. in the case of 66: 66 = 33 x 2 = 11 x 3 x 2 where 11, 3 and 2 are prime numbers and cannot be split down further. Each slit can be represented visually as a branch with the composite numbers at rhe end of each twig giving the name as a factor 'tree'.
