your question does not make sense... if you were to ask the question why was the planet was named pluto, then it was named after a greek god of the underworld and pluto used to be a part of the under world. pluto the god was was killed after the underworld was corrupted... and pluto was forced out of the under world. that would answer that question. if you were asking why planets were called 'planets' well i guess god named them because of their shape. a circle is very plain, if you take the 'i' out of plain you get plan, and since they are some smaller planets they have the ets, just like piglETS, that would answer that question.
