It is called an element.
Some pure substances, called elements cannot be broken down into other physical or chemical means. Individually or in combination, the elements form the object in the world around you! You might be surprised but there are only a few more then 100 elements. In fact you probably use only 30-40 of them daily.
However, scientists are creating more elements as day by day passes in their laboratory. So the number of pure elements might increase soon. Most of the new created elements, though, we won't use. It will be mainly for scientific research and/or other uses.

A pure substance that cannot be broken down into simpler substances by physical or chemical means is an element. This is because Elements can't be broken down chemically into other substances because there is nothing to break them down into.

No, liquid is a state of matter, not a substance itself. Substances can exist in liquid state, but liquids can be broken down into simpler substances through physical or chemical processes.
An element is a substance that cannot be broken down into other substances by chemical or physical means. It consists of atoms with the same atomic number and unique set of properties. Examples of elements include hydrogen, oxygen, and gold.
All substances can be broken into any other substances (or elements) by chemical or physical methods.
An element is a substance that cannot be separated or broken down into simpler substances by chemical means. Examples include oxygen, gold, and carbon.
Substance A is likely an element, as it cannot be broken down by a chemical change. Substance Z is likely a compound, as it can be broken down by a chemical change into simpler substances. From this information, it can be concluded that substances A and Z have different chemical compositions and properties.
