yes. you can use trigonometry but phytagoreans theorem is faster and easier
Yes.

The subject mathematics needs focus, problem solving ability for which a researcher needs to invest their time. So, they must find a selective PhD topic in mathematics that helps them bring original ideas and research. Below are a few PhD topic in mathematics subject. If you are looking for the best ideas to help, then these topics will give you a better vision. An illustration of mean, mode, and median. Mathematical definitions of infinity and how to calculate it. Real-life applications of the Pythagorean Theorem.
Better for what??? Actually, both are closely related. The distance formula is derived from the Pythagorean theorem.

Yes.
better word would be, perhaps, "proved". It was Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras. But the fact that in a triangle with an angle of 90 degrees the square of the longest side equals the sum of squares of other two sides, was well known before Pythagoras in Egypt and India
A more better answer for people is that he went to pythagorean school and was taught by thales a greek philosipher

When in life is the Pythagoras theorem used? When a foundation of a house is built, the corners must be 90°. You measure the length of two sides of the foundation at a corner. Measure the hypotenuse, the distance between the ends of the sides. Square the 2 sides and add. Take the square root of the sum. That number should be the length of the hypotenuse, if not you better move the sides of the foundation

Organic baby formula is better than regular baby formula. It does not have any of the harsh chamicals that regular baby formula has.
Better known as Bolt Circle Diameter, the formula is d / sin (1/n x 180) where d is the distance between the centers of two adjacent bolts and n is the total number of bolts.
Distance is one of basic physical quantities hence it is "a property that can be quantified". It's basic SI unit is meter. Perhaps it's not much of an answer, but it's as far you can go.Geometricaly speaking, distance between two places is a function of their coordinates or simply - just a number.Formula for the function that is used to calculate distance is called metric and can be as simple as Pythagoras theorem in plane or very complicated incorporating also time... (smart enough formula can describe how things fall down, it just needs to give smaller number (distance to the ground) for bigger time).Distance in physics, is the length of the path (the line or curve) described by an object moving through space. It's unit in Système International d'Unités is metre.Note: Distance is not the same as displacement. Distance is a scalar and displacement is a vector. To better understand the difference between them you can use the applet from this site: http://www.physics.gatech.edu/academics/classes/2211/main/demos/displacement/DDis.html
