They are basically the same thing however, a rhombus has the sides all congruent and the parallelogram has the opposite sides congruent.

If the rhombus had angles of 90 degrees it would become a square and if a parallelogram had sides 90 degrees it would become a rectangle.

All rhombuses are parallelograms, but not all parallelograms are rhombuses. Likewise, using the above example of squares, all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares.

What is different between rhombus and the parallelogram?

In a rhombus each of the sides is of the same length whereas in a parallelogram, each pair of opposite sides is of the same length but the two pairs are different.

How is a parallelogram different from a rhombus?

Technically, a rhombus is a parallelogram, but a parallelogram is not always a rhombus. A parallelogram is any four-sided shape with two sets of parallel lines. A rhombus is a parallelogram with all equivalent side lengths. So, a rhombus is a more specific parallelogram. (And so is a a square or a rectangle.)

What are the difference between a rhombus and parallelogram?

A rhombus is a kind of parallelogram. All four of its sides are of the same length.

What is one way a parallelogram is different from a rhombus?

Adjacent sides of a parallelogram can be of different lengths.

Is every parallelogram a rhombus?

A rhombus is a self-intersecting shape with four sides. Every parallelogram is a rhombus. The angle of the intersections are the only variances.* * * * *Not true.A rhombus is a simple polygon. It is notself-intersecting.Every rhombus is a parallelogram but every parallelogram is not a rhombus! (The opposite of what the previous answer claimed.) All four sides of a rhombus are of the same length. In a parallelogram, each pair of opposite sides are equal, but the adjacent sides are of different length.

How is a rhombus the same as a parallelogram?

A rhombus is a parallelogram, but a parallelogram isn't always a rhombus. A rhombus is a parallelogram where all the lines are the same length.

What are different names for a parallelogram?

rhombus rectangle

What a different names for a parallelogram?

rhombus rectangle

What are rhombus parallelogram and a rectangle are all names for?

A rhombus, a parallelogram, and a rectangle, are different examples of quadrilaterals, that is, four-sided shapes.

Is parallelogram also a rhombus?

A rhombus is a parallelogram, but something that is a parallelogram isn't necessarily a rhombus.

What is one thing a parallelogram and rhombus are different?
