Many things can be represented by upper case letters. Some which spring to mind are:

  • some chemical symbols are single capitals, such as H, O and S
  • some units have capital letters as their shorthand, e.g. N for newtons and A for amperes
  • they are usually used to designate points in a geometric diagram
  • and of course they label multiple choice answers!
