A fraction where the decimal form doesn't go on for every. Such as 1/2 = 0.5. But numbers like 1/3 = 0/333333333333333... go one for ever, so it is repeating. The only fractions that terminate have their denominator either be even or a multiple of 5. So 1/45 and 1/2343456 are terminating because they're either a multiple of 5 or 2.
