The main difference between plasma and LCD panels is the contrast ratio (deeper blacks the higher the ratio) and the viewing angles (the wider the angle you are to the actual screen, it usually gets worse). Plasma screens usually have better angle viewing and contrast ratio at the expense of a higher power consumption and lower native resolution than LCD panels.
Neither LG nor any other television can improve your poor viewing angle. To improve it, you must move from your current location to one where there is a better viewing angle. As a professor, you will be able to understand that your own location is outside the control of a television and that your scope for self determination will assist greatly in your quest to find a good viewing angle. When you have located an improved viewing angle, it might be worth marking it so that you will be able to find it again the next time you find you are at a poor viewing angle.
LCD is better for hd viewing and the colours wil be more bright on lcd but plasma has got a glass screen and the colours are a little bit dimmer but the picture is great for standard viewing aswell as hd viewing , i have a lcd and for standard viewing the upsetted me but a hd plasma i have to say is better than a lcd in my opinion
