About 4a.
A high level 4 or low level 5.
1st grade
These days, lots of secondary schools in England are starting to settle for a level 4a. The truth is, I am in a school that specialises in business and enterprise and in some cases, a level 5b at the end of year 7 may place you in top set for year 8. I achieved a level 6c at the end of year 7 and ended up in top set for year 8. Really, a 4a, 5c or 5b is average; occasionally a 5b may be high.
2nd-3rd grade.
A level 6 in year 9 can equate to a grade B at GCSE in that particular subject. A level 6 in year 7 means the pupil is almost definitley on target for an A* in that subject at GCSE. Level 6 in the average grade for a year 9 student.
well for english it would be a 6ahistory - 6amaths- 7cscience - 6b/6ageography- 6aIn GCSE Grades -Level 5 - Grade CLevel 6 - Grade BLevel 7 - Grade ALevel 8 - Grade A*But getting level 8 by end of year 9 is EXTREMELY unlikely, so if your on a level 6 or 7, your doing well:-)Hope I helped!!
5c for a year 7 student is average, as many accomplish level 5 in year 6

Considered level 4 is average for someone in year 6 and level 5/6 is average for someone in year 9 I would say 4C-5B level 7 is above average.
Most books recommend writing at about a fifth-grade reading level. Some people read better than that, and some cannot read as well, but that is the accepted average. Writing at that level will mean that most people will be able to understand you.

The average ages for grades K - 12 are between 5 and 18. Kindergarten is 5 and 6 year olds. 1st grade is 6 and 7 year olds. 2nd grade is 7 and 8 year olds. 3rd grade is 8 and 9 year olds. 4th grade is 9 and 10 year olds. 5th grade is 10 and 11 year olds. 6th grade is 11 and 12 year olds. 7th grade is 12 and 13 year olds. 8th grade is 13 and 14 year olds. 9th grade is 14 and 15 year olds. 10th grade is 15 and 16 year olds. 11th grade is 16 and 17 year olds. And 12th grade is 17 and 18 year olds. This only works for the average student that hasn't been held back at all at any grades.
