I am not aware of any Remington .22 rifle with a 672 designation. Unless there is a very late model from Remington with that model number, I believe you are referring to their model 572 rifle. The M/572 was a PUMP repeater that was initially produced in the 1950's, in various grades and is, or was until the last year or two, still being manufactured. Serial numbers were not required on .22 rifles up until December of 1968, when the infamous "Gun Control Act of 1968" was passed. If you do indeed actually have a model 572 PUMP rifle, and you can not find the serial number, you most likely have a unit manufactured prior to 12/68, since all M/572 rifles with serial numbers have them very plainly stamped on the side of the receiver.

To determine the age of a Remington 141 Gamemaster rifle with serial number 26940, you would need to consult the Remington Arms Company's records or contact their customer service department. Remington can provide the manufacturing date based on the serial number. The Remington 141 Gamemaster was produced from 1936 to 1950, so the rifle with serial number 26940 would fall within that range.
The 141's are date code stamped on the barrel, the location diagram and date codes are on the Remington Society of America.
This is a late gun based on the serial, after at least 1930 so it's date code stamped on the barrel see related links.
The remington model 141 gamemaster was made from 1936-1950.There should be a 2 letter code on the left side of the barrel ahead of the receiver. If you look up remington society of america,s website and match that 2 letter code to there list it will give you the year of manufacture.

Remington rifles are dated from a 2 or 3 LETTER code stamped on the barrels, left side, half inch from the receiver. Go to the website for the Remington Collector's Association, and they have the table to decode the month and year of manufacture.
