You can't tell. The perimeter doesn't tell you the length. The only thing you know
is that the length and width have to add up to 72 inches. There are an infinite
number of rectangles with different shapes that can do that.
Here are a few of them. All of these have perimeter of 144:
Length x Width
1 x 71
2 x 70
3 x 69
4 x 68
5 x 67
10 x 62
20 x 52
30 x 42
35 x 37
36 x 36
.
.
etc.
Area = 144 sq inches => Length of side, L = 12 inches => Perimeter = 4*L = 48 inches.
Width of rectangle: 144/18 = 8cm Perimeter of rectangle: 2*(18+8) = 52cm
48 inches.
--> 2 x 22, Area = 44 square inches --> 6 x 18, Area = 108 square inches --> 12 x 12, Area = 144 square inches
72
Area = 144 sq inches => Length of side, L = 12 inches => Perimeter = 4*L = 48 inches.
Let the length be 4x and the width be x: 2(4x+x) = 60 8x+2x = 60 10x = 60 x = 6 So: length = 24 and width = 6 Area = length*width Area = 144 square inches
Width of rectangle: 144/18 = 8cm Perimeter of rectangle: 2*(18+8) = 52cm
144 inches.
48 inches.
--> 2 x 22, Area = 44 square inches --> 6 x 18, Area = 108 square inches --> 12 x 12, Area = 144 square inches
If the rectangle is a square, the perimeter is 48 cm. If not, there are a lot of possibilities.
72
L + W = P/2 = 72 feet L = 3W so L = 3/4 x 72 = 54 feet
48 inches.
You can't tell. There are an infinite number of triangles that all have a perimeter of 144.
