Base Ten means you multiply by 10 to get to the next higher place
In the decimal system, 10 times.
In the US system, the next place to the left has a value of one billion to under ten billion, or units of billions. Then there is tens of billions, and hundreds of billions.
In each place value there are only 10 digits that can be placed, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0. At that point then next place value is used. A different place value system in computers is the based two system. Its number system goes like this 0=0 1=1 10=2 11=3 100=4
The place value of each digit is b times the place value of the digit to its right where b is the base for the system: whether that is binary, octal, decimal, duodecimal, hexadecimal, sexagesimal or some other value.

It is same when your revenue increases and at the same time it manages to maintain its profit %. Assuming a company has a turnover of 100 crores and has a running expenditure of 75 crores then profit is 25 crores which is 25%. If the company takes steps to increase its turnover and manages to increase the total turnover the next year to 200 crores and manages to keep its expenditure to 150 crores, this implies that the profit this time around was the same 25% and hence profit maximization happened the same as revenue maximization. But it is seldom the case. In many cases when a company strives to increase either, the other takes a hit.

The next summer OLYMPICS take place in 2012 in London.
You know that place? Next to that place with the place beside it? Yea, that place.
