This factors to

(x + 1) (x + 2) = 0

Now we make each bracket in turn equal 0, so:

x + 1 = 0

x = -1

and

x + 2 = 0

x = -2

Thus the roots of this quadratic have been solved by factoring and are -1 & -2.
