I am a computer programmer. Most of the programs I write generate PDF files. In a PDF file, the printed page is one big coordinate plane. Coordinate geometry is used to position elements on the page.

The PDF files I produce include text, images and line drawings, all of which are positioned and sized using (x,y) coordinates, distances, slopes, and simple trigonometry.

Sometimes I do image manipulation. An image file is also a coordinate plane with color information at each coordinate.

I used to do computer based multimedia presentations. The computer screen is also a coordinate plane and uses (x,y) coordinates to position elements on the screen.
