A farmer might want to work out how much seed needs to be planted per field, to give him a certain yield, or how much grass each animal needs to produce a certain yield, how many animals he can have in a particular field, how much fertilizer he needs per acre, the list is endless. Using maths decreases costs, decreases waste, and improves yields.
