If you are referring to the fabled 1964 Peace dollars that the Mint struck as a political and financial favor to the silver lobby, they contained the same amount as other standard silver coins - 90%; the rest was copper. In addition they reportedly used the same dies as earlier Peace dollars so they had an identical design. The price of silver skyrocketed shortly after these coins were minted so they were never released. Supposedly all were melted but reports persist that one or two were hidden and are in private hands. If so, they would be worth millions each.
6-9-11>>> For the year 1921 two silver dollars were issued and each is a separate series of dollar coins and the designs are very different. Morgan dollars were issued from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921, the obverse (front) of the coin has a portrait of Miss Liberty with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM above her head, on the reverse the eagle has its wings spread out. The Peace dollar was also issued in 1921 to 1928 and 1934 & 1935 the obverse of this coin has the word LIBERTY above Miss Liberty's head and on the reverse the eagles wings are folded and it's standing on a rock with the word PEACE on it. The values between the two are very different. MORGAN: $35.00-$41.00 in circulated condition. PEACE: $80.00-$185.00 in circulated condition.
