velocity = distance travelled over time

Strictly speaking in physics velocity and speed are not quite the same thing. Velocity should be stated with direction. If there is no direction stated then in physics it is called speed. In everyday language we use either term.

velocity = 2345m / 315s

= 7.4 m/s

= 26.8 km/hr

= 16.6 mi/hr (1 km = 0.6213 miles)
