You can't tell the dimensions from the area. Even if we know it's a rectangle,
there are still an infinite number of different sets of dimensions that it could
have, all with the same area.
Here are a few of them. These are all 140 square feet:
1 x 140 ft
2 x 70 ft
3 ft x 46 ft 8 in
4 x 35
5 x 28
6 ft x 23 ft 4 in
7 x 20
8 ft x 17 ft 6 in
10 x 14
11 ft 8 in x 12 ft
-- Measure the length and width of the room, in feet.-- Multiply the (length of the room) times (the width of the room), in feet.-- The answer is the number of square feet of carpet required to cover the floor of the room.
If the room is rectangular - the usual case - multiply the length times the width. If length and width are in meters, the area will be in square meters; if length and width are in feet, the area will be in square feet, etc.

In order to calculate the square footage you need to find the length and the width of the room in feet. You multiply the length and the width to give you the square footage of the room
96 square feet. Multiply length by width - the result is the area in square feet.
To find the square feet of carpet for a room, measure the length and width of the room in feet. Then, multiply the length by the width to get the square footage. For example, a room that is 10 feet by 12 feet would require 120 square feet of carpet.
The square footage of a 12x27 room is 324 square feet. To find this, you multiply the length (12 feet) by the width (27 feet) of the room.
If the room is rectangular, the area is simply length x width. If length and width are in feet, then the result of the multiplication will be square feet.
The square footage of a room that is 12 feet by 23 feet is 276 square feet. This is calculated by multiplying the length (12 ft) by the width (23 ft) of the room.
A 33x12 room has an area of 396 square feet. This is calculated by multiplying the length (33 feet) by the width (12 feet) of the room.
The square footage of a 20x18 room is 360 square feet. This can be calculated by multiplying the length (20 feet) by the width (18 feet).
Multiply the length of the room by the width of the room. The result is square feet.

To find the length of the room, you can use the formula for the area of a rectangle, which is length multiplied by width. Given that the area is 252 square feet and the width is 18 feet, you can divide the area by the width to find the length. Therefore, the length of the room is 252 square feet divided by 18 feet, which equals 14 feet.
To find the square footage of a room, measure the length and width of the room in feet. Then, multiply the length by the width to calculate the area in square feet. For example, a room that is 10 feet long and 12 feet wide would have an area of 120 square feet (10 ft x 12 ft = 120 sq ft).
