Why do nba players list their height taller than they rally are?
mostly because the "height" represents length (wingspan) as well,
for example Derrick Rose is really 6-1 just a little over 6-2 with
shoes on, but he has a 6-8 wingspan and over 40 inch vertical leap
which allows him to play bigger than a person his height with a
regular wingspan of let's say 6-3 (wingspans are normally an inch
or two different than your actual height). For example you look at
a player like stephen curry who is listed as 6-3 compared to
Derrick Rose who is also listed as 6-3 yet stephen is clearly
taller than rose but lacks the wingspan and jumping ability to get
listed at 6-4 or maybe even 6-5.
