Grams and kilograms are measurement of weight. For a letter you would use grams. For a package you would use kilograms as it weight is more.
The weight of a TV is in the same general ballpark as that of a human. So the appropriate unit would be the unit you use to weigh yourself. So that would be kg or lbs depending on where you are.
I would use ounces.

Pounds or kilograms
Millimetres, as in 1.5 mm. You could use a micrometer to measure thickness of a coin.
Coins are measured in millimetres.
Carots for the diamond. Grams for the gold or silver.
Ounces would be more appropriate to weigh a slice of pie as it is a smaller unit of measurement compared to pounds. This would provide a more precise measurement for the weight of the slice.
Usually you would weigh it, on a device that is calibrated to show mass.
It really depends on how big the cat is. the most logical one you could weigh it in is lbs. or ounces
