There is no set time of day a chicken will lay an egg. Some prefer morning while others will lay just prior to roosting in the evening. A small upset/fight in the yard can effect the time of day/night the bird will lay also. Frightened hens will put off laying for hours past their normal laying time if anything disturbs them.
Yes, it is normal for a chicken to lay one egg at a time. Chickens typically lay one egg per day, and they will often lay their eggs in a nesting box or some other designated spot. If you only see one egg at a time, it is likely because the chicken has not yet laid another one.
Each individual chicken lays only one egg per day maximum. There are no breeds of chicken that lay more than one egg in a 24 hour period and many breeds do not lay even that fast.

I don't believe so. I can normally tell what chicken layed what egg by what color it is.
Each chicken takes a day and a half to lay one egg. So in 24 days each chicken can lay 2/3 of 24 = 16 eggs. There are 24 chicken so, in all, 24*16 = 384 eggs can be laid.

it will take, depending on the time and the type of bird, around 20 minutes to lay an egg.

No, every egg unique in shape and size.
Not all hens do lay an egg per day. Some only lay an egg every second day while others may only lay two eggs per week. The egg laying capacity of a hen depends on the breed of hen but no chicken lays more that one egg per 24 hour period. 24 hours is the minimum length of time the hens oviduct needs to produce and form an egg.

No because Obviously the chicken would drown by the time the egg fully came out!

Well that all depends on how many eggs that chicken can lay in a day. There isn't enough information.
