To do a vertical jump, one needs to leap and get one's center of gravity straight up in the air. This can be a good measure for how high one can jump from a standstill position.
Inches
The only dimension is length (or distance).
Vertical means straight up and down, aligned with the direction of gravity. Vertically upward means vertical in the up direction. So if you jump directly straight up that is vertically upward; when you land you are travelling vertically downward.
if it takes leaping louie 5 minutes to jump 3 blocks, how long will it take for him to jump 15 block? t=d/s (speed=distance/time)
Hang time depends on your vertical component of velocity when you jump. The higher the vertical velocity, the longer your feet will be off the ground. The horizontal component of velocity does not affect hang time.
The higher you jump the longer your hang time. Your height is dependant on the force applied to the ground at liftoff
Vertical Jump is when they (scorers )measure you and then you jump as high as you can. The winner is the person who jumped the furthest.
Michael Jordan's vertical jump is recorded around 48". It is also estimated that his hang time, or time spent in the air, is about 0.98 seconds.

The hang time of an athlete can be calculated using the formula: hang time = square root(2 * vertical distance / acceleration due to gravity) Substitute the given vertical distance (0.75 meters) and the acceleration due to gravity (9.81 m/s^2), then solve for the hang time.
Depends on your arm span, but you would need to jump around 5 feet which is 60 inches.
If you mean in terms of vertical leap then the shorter person will most likely have a higher vertical because of a lower center of gravity and more body control. In terms of touching the highest point of a wall or something then the taller person will most likely get higher because their wingspan will be much longer resulting in a significantly higher standing reach. So the shorter person would have to jump a lot higher to come close to touching the same spot.
to get you jump higher and get exercise.
I don't see how falling would increase your vertical jump. You are risking an injury when you fall.
Falling does not increase your vertical jump but does increase the risk of an injury that can create a barrier to your vertical jump.
Increasing your vertical jump can be extremely helpful in sports where height is an advantage, such as basketball. Some good workout routines that increase your vertical jump are the barbell front squat, the box jump and bodyweight split jump.
