The Sraight line Equation on the Co-ordinate plain is

y = mx + c

This can have various algebrica rearrgangements

y - mx = c

y - mx - c = 0

mx - y + c = 0

NB Providing both the 'y' and the 'x' are NOT raised to any power/exponent, then it is a straightline(linear)

NNB Such a line as y = x^(2) + c ior y^(2) = 4ax are NOT a straight lines.
