The word prism come from the Greek prisma for "something sawed". The shape resembles the piece that you get when you saw a corner off a plank of wood.
To measure (for example) a 2 metre long plank of wood: Place the tang at one end of the plank, stretch out the tape along the plank's length, read off the measurement at the other end of the plank. In our example, the tape should read 2 metres.
More information is needed. The plank has a length, width and height and you only gave 2 dimensions. Also we would need something like the density of the plank.
If the plank is cut into eight equal parts then divide eight into 1 foot to get the length of one part. 1 ÷ 8 = 1/8foot. So one part is one-eighth of a foot long. Two parts therefore measure twice that length. 2 x 1/8 = 2/8 foot. But, two divides into both the numerator and denominator so the fraction can be simplified 2 ÷ 2 = 1 and 8 ÷ 2 = 4. 2/8 = 1/4 foot. The fraction that names 2 pieces of the plank of wood is 1/4 or one-quarter.

A plank is a long, broad piece of timber.
lol i had this for home work .. yeah so if each piece was 18. and their if four piece's I guess you multiply 18*4=62... right! okayyy well

Total length = 800 inches. Number of pieces = 12 Length of each piece = 800/12 = 200/3 = 66 2/3 inches.
