The sign change key on the TI-83 Plus calculator is located on the bottom row of keys to the left of the ENTER key.
It is a white key with black printing that looks like this: (-)
You must use this key instead of the blue subtraction key when you need to indicate a negative number; otherwise, the calculator will tell you it doesn't understand what you mean ("syntax error").
To find the additive inverse of any number, just change the plus sign (or no sign) to a minus sign, or (as in this case), if there already is a minus sign, change it to a plus sign (or no sign).
There is a button above the division sign that looks like this: ^ You type: 2^5 which means 25
In the simplest case, if there is a minus sign in front of a number, just take it away. If there is a plus sign, or no sign, no change is required.
The "times" sign is the "X" seriously? NOT ON WINDOWS 7! Lier...
Example: -4-(-3)=? Change the subtraction sign to plus sign and change the negative three to a positive three. -4+3= -1
Yes. To access it, press [Math], scroll over to PRB [>] [>] [>] [>], and select option [4].
If you mean the ADDITIVE INVERSE, change the minus sign to a plus sign. (And if you see a plus sign, you change it to a minus sign.)
Additive inverse means that you are supposed to change the sign:* If there is a plus sign (or no sign at all), change it to a minus. * If there is a minus sign (as in this case), change it to a plus (or no sign).
To find the additive inverse of any number, just change the plus sign (or no sign) to a minus sign, or (as in this case), if there already is a minus sign, change it to a plus sign (or no sign).
Here, let me show you an example of how you do 2 + 2 : *** Press 2, then the plus (+) sign, then 2 again. After that you press the equal (=) sign. Then, the calculator should say 4 on it's screen.
The change of sign key converts the value from positive to negative or vice versa. For example, if the number shown in the calculator is 100, clicking the button will convert it to -100. Clicking it again will convert it back to 100.

Same place as the minus sign
