There are a number of very high quality statistical analysis packages including:

  • Minitab
  • SPSS
  • SAS

In general Minitab seems to be more commonly used by scientists and engineers (at least in academia) whereas SPSS is used in the Social Sciences. SAS is widely used in a variety of industry and commercial settings.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of statistical analysis software although the three examples listed above are very widely used.
