In Algebra 1 you learn all the basics and build on these skills through a certain level. Geometry came in between for everyone I've knows.. here you use the basic algebra skills in an otherwise easier course. Algebra 2 consist of more advanced numbers, equations, operators, rules and procedures, without most of what one learned into Geomretry. You're constantly using the quadratic equation, which was used in geometry andvery often in Algebra 2. You'll solve systems of equations and start to get into trig
If you are having troubles in Algebra and your teacher cannot help, you might want to consider getting a tutor. Perhaps a fellow student or someone the teacher knows of can help you learn the subject.
Questions about algebra are sometimes answered on this site; there are also a number of other websites which answer questions. If it is difficult to get enough help by way of the internet, find someone who knows algebra and get that person to help you. But why don't you try asking us a question about algebra? There's a website called brightstorm.com You have to pay to use the full site, but they have an answer checker which I found very helpful, since I'm currently graphing quadratic functions and unfortunately don't get how to do it at all.
You don't need advanced algebra to prove that it is impossible to trisect a line segment using only a straight edge and a compass: anyone knows that you will also need a pencil! And one you have that then there are plenty of easy ways to do it.
