10 digits are numbers in the billions.
Ten different digits can be used to make 10C4 = 10*9*8*7/(4*3*2*1) = 210 four-digit numbers. Either numbers starting with 0 are permitted or the 10 digits do not contain a 0.
-- The decimal system (base-10) uses 10 digits to write all numbers. -- The binary system (base-2) uses 2 digits to write all numbers.
There are 9 digits that can be the first digit (1-9); for each of these there is 1 digit that can be the second digit (6); for each of these there are 10 digits that can be the third digit (0-9); for each of these there are 10 digits that can be the fourth digit (0-9). → number of numbers is 9 × 1 × 10 × 10 = 900 such numbers.
